IT Computer Hardware Onboarding Process
This article outlines the IT process for onboarding new computer hardware.
- User or reporting manager requests hardware through Support Portal: Hardware Ordering Process.
- For new hires, please direct reporting managers to our onboarding process.
- Hardware requests are assigned to IT Support Manager.
- IT Support Manager checks inventory or orders new equipment.
- Technician is assigned to install hardware.
- Technician runs Windows Autopilot.
- Technician names the PC using proper naming convention.
- Technician verifies Intunes enrollment.
- Technician installs practice-specific applications (IT Department Documents > Practice Information > select the practice folder > IT Documentation).
- Technician physically installs hardware:
- Launch applications to ensure installed correctly.
- Test sensors, printers, scanners, etc.
- Technician updates Asset information in Freshservice.
- Technician offboards former computer hardware (replacements only).
