WHAT:  We will be enabling DMARC enforcement on LightwaveDental.com email domain.

WHEN:  5/31/2024 at 5 PM EDT

WHY: DMARC is a standard email authentication method. DMARC helps mail administrators prevent hackers and other attackers from spoofing their organization and domain. Spoofing is a type of attack in which the From address of an email message is forged. A spoofed message appears to be from the impersonated organization or domain.

Recently, the ADA sent out an alert warning of credible cybersecurity threats to dental practices. You can help us keep our network secure and protect our patient's privacy by reviewing the articles below on cybersecurity threats.

IMPACT:  Minimal. Lightwave IT has been monitoring Lightwave email for a few months and we believe to have all the legitimate senders on the allow list. Once turned on, it should not affect any email traffic. Any future applications that are authorized to send email from the LightwaveDental.com domain will need to be added to the allow list.
